Context
Launched in early 2022, the Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) included multiple supports to help businesses better use technology.
These included an interest-free loan, youth wage subsidies, a $15K grant for digital planning and $2,400 to expand online presence through an ecommerce website and digital marketing.
Update
As of February 19, 2024, Canada Digital Adoption Program’s Boost Your Business Technology is no longer accepting new applications.
This news came suddenly to digital advisors like us in late February. We had only a few days (over a long weekend!) to notify companies who were thinking of applying.
Depending on the stage you’re at with your application, you may still be able to access the supports from this component of CDAP.
What you should do
If you've recently applied... you can still submit your claim for reimbursement after your digital adoption plan is completed. After your digital adoption plan is approved and your grant is disbursed, you can still apply for the interest-free loan and youth wage subsidies.
If you applied awhile ago and might be nearing the expiry date of the grant agreement... start working with your digital advisor right away. You won't be eligible for the $15K grant if your claim is submitted after the expiry of the agreement
If you haven't applied yet... unfortunately you're no longer able to access the Boost Your Business Technology supports.
Login to the CDAP portal to access your application.
The CDAP Grow Your Business Online $2,400 grant remains open for applications. We highly encourage businesses to take advantage of this grant as soon as possible.
Our Thoughts
We had the privilege of meeting over a hundred businesses across Canada - from integrated health clinics in Ontario to consulting companies in B.C.
It’s clear that business owners need support to digitize their operations and strengthen their online presence. Without CDAP’s Boost Your Business Technology, many business owners likely would not have devoted the time and resources to technology planning and implementation.
We are hopeful that future programs will be made available to small businesses to support technology planning and investments. We'll keep an eye out for announcements.
